An ongoing work of fiction, The Apprenticeship, by Malc Cowle follows the adventures, life and times of Michael Hand, a keen cyclist and apprentice serving his time in the A.E.I.factory in the Openshaw area of East Manchester in the 1960’s. The first five parts are First Love, Leviticus - Leviticus!, Circumstantial Evidence, No Surrender and The Assasin & The Cyclist. A sixth part is in progress. Other books are A Tale of Two Festivals - The Devil's Jig (fiction) and The Adventures of a Bicycle Frame Builder - Old Enough to Know Better (autobiographical).

We're experiencing high levels of repair work and shortage a of space due to this: All repair will have to be booked in advance over the phone or in person and will not be accepted other wise...and we'll arrange a time when suitable.
Due to rising costs we're unfortunately forced to increase the cost of our service charges, we have endeavored to minimize the cost to our customers.... details here and this is our first increase in over 5 years .... were still one of the most completive cycles repairs shop in manchester.
